Tai chi v/s Aerobic Exercises

Tai chi is a Chinese technique of self defence and exercising. The Chinese consider inactivity as one of the major reasons for bad health and have developed many techniques to deal with the same. Tai chi is a form of martial arts. Tai chi has many advantages over other exercises which make it one of the best methods to keep fit. When compared to isometric exercises tai chi proves to be much more effective and easier to practice. Many of the isometric exercises work on one particular muscle or a body part in contrast to tai chi which works on the complete body.Tai Chi vs Aerobic Exercises

Tai chi when compared to aerobic exercises also proves to be a lot more beneficial and easier to perform. It was considered that tai chi is probably not as effective as aerobic exercises when it comes to cardiovascular fitness. Exercises such as running, cycling, rope jumping, aerobic dance were considered much beneficial for cardiovascular fitness. This however is not true and has been proved with scientific proof that tai chi provides cardiovascular fitness at par with the aerobic exercises such as jogging, cycling etc. many doctors in fact consider tai chi better than the aerobic exercises such as jogging as there is always a greater chance of getting injured while running than when compared to tai chi.

The high impact aerobic exercises have a limitation that they cannot be performed by every one. Many health problems and old age limit the practice of aerobic exercises whereas tai chi can be done by any individual. Another fact which works against aerobic exercises is the fact that these exercises are incomplete physical activities as they only work on the cardiovascular and the muculoskeletal systems on the other hand tai chi also works on the internal body organs also by providing rhythmic movements which lead to a better functionality of the organs. Tao chi also happens to be a faster and easier means of exercising as compared to aerobic exercises which make it a lot more suitable to the fast paced life.
