Advantages of Tai Chi

Exercising is very important for the well being of any individual. No one can ever question the importance of regular exercise. One of the major problems faced by people today is the fact that there are so many types and forms of exercises which leads to confusion as in which is the best method or which method does an individual choose to stay fit. Tai chi happens to be one of the methods of exercising. Tai chi is a form of martial arts developed by the Chinese. The Chinese consider inactivity as one of the major causes of illness. There are many exercises specifically for dealing with inactivity but tai chi is considered the best by the Chinese. Tai chi is considered the best because of the advantages it has over the other types of exercises. Unlike many other exercises tai chi works on the complete body.

Other exercises such as the isometric exercises work mostly on one particular body part or muscle while on the other hand the tai chi works on the complete body as a whole. The isometric exercises have another disadvantage that it is not possible to measure the correct amount of exercise. The scientific research confirmed that tai chi stimulates the central nervous system, happens to be a stress reliever, lowers blood pressure, enhances digestion , provides rhythmic movement to the internal organs which enhances their functionalities. There is also a myth related to tai chi.

Chi is the internal energy of the body. According to the Chinese medicine the chi flows inside the body’s meridians. If there happens to be any obstruction or hindrance in the flow of chi the body would become ill. If the flow is unhindered and balanced the body would remain fit. A proper practice of tai chi ensures unhindered flow of this internal energy leading to a healthy body and hence a healthy mind . the advantages mentioned are of great importance which many other exercises do not offer. Hence tai chi is one of the best methods to stay fit.

People are discovering that Tai Chi is more than just a martial art; it is also a path to health and longevity. Combine this practice with things like compassion, culinary arts, self-cultivation and even entertainment and you’ll elevate yourself to a new level of well-being.  At this stage, life becomes art instead of an exercise in suffering.  You’ll see.
